The Godalming gang were joined by a team from Bedfordshire for an epic trail across Winterfold on September 22nd. Starting in the Hurtwood car park at the Windmill Pub, the 17 strong group experienced a day of monster climbs and amazing downhill trails. These included the well known Yoghurt Pots and Summer Lightning. The downhill trail Barry Knows Best was enjoyed so much that the gang rode up again for a second descent.
Here’s the team pictured at the top of Holmbury Hill. Getting up Leith Hill was another matter!
Some of the descents were incredibly fast/steep/technical/dangerous, but luckily there were relatively few crashes, and only one banana’d wheel! Lunch was had at The Volunteer near Peaslake with a quick post ride drink at The Windmill, before returning to Godalming for a celebratory curry at The Charterhouse.
